FAQs

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

Your pediatrician is your best resource, and feel free to check out our free milestones chart. If you are concerned, call, text or email to schedule a screening. If you’re ready for a full evaluation or to book an appointment, have your pediatrician send a speech therapy referral to Honey Pie Therapy in North Augusta.

Where are you located?

We are in the heart of North Augusta at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Martintown Rd. The address is 106 East Martintown Rd. Suite A.

What should I bring?

Please bring a Photo ID and insurance card, as well as your child’s IEP or any other relevant paperwork. If your evaluation is for feeding concerns, ask what types of snacks are appropriate to bring. Make sure you fill out our new patient forms before you arrive.

What’s the cost and how do I pay?

Speech therapy is often covered by your insurance. We currently accept South Carolina Medicaid, First Choice/ Select Health, Absolute Total Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Tricare. We also offer a private pay option. That cost is a one-time fee of $200 for the initial evaluation and $45 for a 30-minute session or $90 for a 60-minute session after the initial visit. We accept all major debit and credit cards, Venmo or FSA/HSA.

How often will my child be seen?

It depends! Frequency of therapy sessions depends on the recommendation of the Speech Language Pathologist and varies according to your child’s needs.

My child gets speech at school, why would they need private speech therapy?

While school-based speech therapy is important, many children need services that can only be provided in a medical setting. Your therapist can determine if your child requires services outside of the school.

What if I need to reschedule?

Consistent therapy is most effective. That being said, we know sometimes you may need to reschedule an appointment. If so, please do so with at least 24 hours notice. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time or are a no show, a $45 fee for treatment session or $100 fee for an initial evaluation will be incurred.
